I extend my congratulations to Jafar Panahi, renowned international filmmaker, screenwriter, editor, and human rights activist, on receiving the Palme d’Or award from the Cannes Film Festival 2025. I sincerely hope that in our beloved country, Iran—cradle of culture and art—a dignified and deserving place will be granted to such a person, and that we will never again witness tragedies such as arrests and other injustices on baseless grounds, as has occurred in the past.
